I remember watching my father, a miner, electrician and sailor, making silver necklaces for us in his workshop. Everyone had a workshop in the 1970’s! I still have those necklaces and I still have a profound feeling of home and comfort when I go into my workshop.

I was fortunate enough to return to higher education in 2017 and complete an MA with distinction in Jewellery, at UCA Farnham. My work with memory began there and continues today through silversmithing, etching and metalwork.

I focus on vessels, landscapes and have in 2024, began work on sculptural pieces as a way to capture a glimpse, sensation or trace of a memory or the concept of memory. I hope the viewer will find a place to hold, contemplate or safely keep their own memories.

I am proud to be a trustee of Making Space in Havant, a community-based craft organisation which supports its local community members and makers by offering opportunities for people, aged 7-70+ who might otherwise not get them.

I strongly believe that creativity and creative futures should be available to everyone.
